The Voice-Acoustic Modular-12P is a passive 2-way system equipped with a 12′ transducer and a 1.4′ compression driver coupled to a rotatable CD horn with either 60° x 40° or 90° x 60° dispersion.
As the name suggests, the Modular Series is extremely flexible and represents a new way of combining arrayable point source systems with multi-functional single loudspeakers. As well as being used as stand-alone loudspeakers, powerful tops with subwoofer support or monitors on stage, the Modular Series is also designed to be used side-by-side in a horizontal array.
Any interference and associated sound interruptions between the sound sources are reduced to a minimum by using special housing geometry, suitable for the narrower beam angle of the rotatable horn. Each horn works only in its defined sound directivity. This technique allows the user an even greater range of applications with only one speaker model and is registered at the Patent Office.
The Easyfly click-in mechanism, which is also registered with the patent office, allows the system to be hung up without tools and precisely aligned in just a few seconds. The mechanism is much more elegant and smaller than a conventional flying bracket. The Modular series is equipped with unobtrusive mounting rails on two sides of the enclosure. This allows the speaker to be hung vertically or horizontally using the Easyfly mechanism. A third flying rail is available at the rear for a required safety cable.
For precise adjustment on a stand or distance rod, the Modular Series has an internal speaker flange with a variable tilt angle of +/- 13.5° in 4.5° increments. The result is a more direct sound reaching the listener and less reflections in the room.
The 12″ transducer used in the Modular-12 is specially designed to produce clean, detailed mid-range sound with high, undistorted SPL. A low moving mass (46g) combined with an extremely powerful neodymium drive unit (B/L factor 17.6) allows for high efficiency and performance normally associated with larger speakers. Elaborate ventilation holes in the magnet system make the chassis highly resilient, allowing heat to be dissipated and power compression to be minimised. Aluminium demodulation rings in the magnet system ensure minimal distortion.
For fixed installations, the Modular-12 can be installed using the Easyfly mechanism, rear mounted tilt and swivel wall brackets, a C-bracket or the 12 internal M10 threaded points with internal steel brackets.
